1. Written Comprehension (30 minutes)
Six short passages followed by fifteen true/false questions

2. Vocabulary and Grammar (15 minutes)
Fill-in-the-blanks using fifteen grammatical forms (prepositions, articles, etc.)

3. Oral Comprehension (15 minutes)
3.1 Fifteen expressions in a brief dialog
3.2 Fifteen multiple-choice questions

4. Listening Comprehension (15 minutes)
4.1 Five short phrases, five multiple-choice questions
4.2 Three short passages, three true/false questions
4.3 Short dialog, two true/false questions

5.a Individual oral exam (duration: 15 minutes)
5.a1 situational test:
4 explanations of situations defined either verbally or visually
5.a2 guided conversation:
6 replies to a guided conversation

5.b Oral exam in pairs (duration: 20 minutes)
5.b1 presentation and discussion of a given topic
5.b2 descriptions of pictures
5.b3 discussion based on an article

By passing this examination of the Italian language, the candidate has shown that he is able to understand the main structures of the Italian language. He is able to read simple texts and he can communicate in elementary everyday situations.
