The Accademia Italiana di Lingua (AIL) is an association of schools, institutions and foreign and national experts working in the area of Italian language teaching to foreign people and in the area of internationally recognized language diploma.
The head office is based in Florence, Italy.
The Italian Language Diplomas "Firenze" are a qualification of Italian language offered by the Accademia Italiana di Lingua (AIL). Diploma examinations "Firenze" in written and spoken Italian for the varius ability levels are held twice a year in our European examination centers.
Every examination centre offers preparatory courses for AIL exams at all levels.
The AIL has created different levels of certification according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). Every level certifies the actual candidate's level of knowledge. The AIL focuses more on the practical aspects of communication and on the ability to use the language effectively and appropriately in real-life situations.
The AIL provides the following certifications:
- DELI-A2 - Diploma Elementare di Lingua Italiana II is the basic level 2 diploma. Time required for exam preparation: 100-120 hours;
- DILI-B1 - Diploma Intermedio di Lingua Italiana is the intermediate level 1 diploma. Time required for exam preparation: 240-300 hours;
- DILC-B1 - Diploma Intermedio di Lingua Italiana Commerciale is the Intermediate level diploma in Business. Time required for exam preparation: 280-340 hours;
- DILI-B2 - Diploma Intermedio di Lingua Italiana is the Intermediate level 2 diploma. Time required for exam preparation: 320 - 400 hours;
- DALI-C1 - Diploma Avanzato di Lingua Italiana is the advance level 1 diploma. Time required for exam preparation: 450-500 hours;
- DALI-C2 - Diploma Avanzato di Lingua Italiana is the advanced level 2 diploma. Time required for exam preparation: 600-650 hours;
The exams are unique and the correction of the written portions as well as the final evaluation are carried out in the main Florence office, in order to guarantee a uniform and fair assessment for all.
